The baths of Obernai name "Mittelbadstube" A to leave the XV century, the history of the baths leaves the shade: one can determine various owners. In 1444 the establishment burns, then once again in 1470. The noble ones do not exploit the baths themselves, the number of bathers-étuvistes having acquired the right of middle-class in fact faith. In 1556 the baths of Obernai pass to the city following several debts the noble ones, afterwards many adventures. It thus seems that the city acquired the baths only following one happy combination of circumstances L' interest which it carries results on the one hand in the rebuilding of the building and its exploitation, and on the other hand by the regulation of the use of the bath. The rebuilding of the bath becomes a municipal company in 1567. The texts of the time do not specify if it acts of a rebuilding or a transformation. Perhaps it does not act of an entirely new building in spite of the qualifier of "neue badstube" (new bath) which indicates it on this date.
